Portuguese soprano Catarina Mouro began her studies in 2001 in the Academia Musical dos Amigos das Crianças, where she joined the chamber choir directed by teacher and Tenor Vítor Paiva, and learned to play the violin.

She was part of the cast of various children’s operas such as Pollicino, Let’s Make an Opera and Jeremias Fisher, having performed at a very young age in some of the most important concert houses in the country like Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, CCB and Culturgest.

In 2011 she was admitted to the Integrated Singing Course in Escola de Música do Conservatório Nacional, in Lisbon, which she concluded with 18, under the tutelage of teacher and Soprano Filomena Amaro.

In 2014 she was awarded 2nd place ex aequo in Prémio Bomtempo in the Advanced Singing Category and in the same year 1st place in chamber music (BelTrio) in Concurso Jovem.com, Category 2. In 2018 she received 2nd place in Concurso Internacional de Música Cidade de Almada, Singing, Level II and in 2022, 2nd place in Concurso Internacional de Música Terras de Santiago, Singing, Level III.

Her first role was Monica in Menotti’s The Medium in an EMCN opera atelier in 2014.

In 2015 she perform 170 times at Casino Estoril arias such as “Der Hölle Rache” and “Libiamo” in the show, A Noite das Mil Estrelas, from Filipe La Féria; having returned in 2016 for another Filipe La Féria production, O Musical da Minha Vida, singing “Glitter and Be Gay” and “How Can I Go On” 75 times. These shows have helped her achieve a high theatrical performance and a varied range of dance styles such as tap dance and jazz.

In 2016 she participated as Barbarina in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro with Metropolitana Opera Atelier in Centro Cultural de Belém, Teatro Thalia and Fórum Municipal Luísa Todi.

Catarina was part of the cast of Die Zauberflöte at Berlin Opera Academy in 2019 under Tom Seligman's direction and staging from Katrin Hilbe. There she did Erste Knabe and cover role as Königin der Nacht.

During October of 2020 she participated as La futura gran cantante en persona in El paseo de Robert Walser, a project from Caellas and Feune de Colombi. She also sang Olympia's "Les oiseaux dans la charmille" from J. Offenbach, for a fashion film. It was presented as an introduction and concept explanation of Pedro Trocades fashion show, Life in plastic a little bit dramatic, at Auditório Ruy de Carvalho, Carnaxide.

Recently, Catarina played the role of Shudi in António Chagas Rosa's Cânticos para a Remissão da Fome at OperaFest Lisboa 2022 She also participated in the Opera Rave as Königin der Nacht.

Since 2017 she has been working with teacher and Maestro Dale Fundling, and more recently with teacher and Baritone Luís Rendas.

She took part in masterclasses with coaches Cameron Burns and Nathaniel LaNasa, with director Jorge Balça, with soprano Lucia Mazzaria, with tenor Ricardo Tamura and with the baritones David Wakeham, Dominic Barberi and Pierre Mak.

She hopes to continue to bring joy and excitement through her voice and acting to the opera lovers.
